This makes sense now that they won't affect IB ranking in year 3, but unfortunately it's one less way for Y1 players to distinguish themselves (unless they only appear as purchase options for those players.)Speaking to that, I'm not sure how I feel about that change, at least for the emblems. It was nice to look at my friends roster and see who was most likely playing IB at the time. Sort of like with the halloween masks, cosmetic things like that seem to put people more in the spirit of limited time/recurring events. The shaders I can see, it was really boring/confusing to see the same 2 shaders on 95% of the players. But I always liked having the IB emblems on everyone!.
It's a month and a half till the release of Rise of Iron. They haven't released many details until now. Bungie has been following through lately.

The stuff Bungie's been showing us our major game changes. They can't exclude that one or there'll be a lot of angry pre-orderers. That's what I thought about Firelord and the other pieces of Exotics.
Since leading up to the TTK they where openly on the Armory it seems we where destined to get them. You know the whole more exotics than Vanilla thing. Come release nothing, okay annoying time gate.

Others it seems Bungie just are selling to us AGAIN to finally obtain.So again I can't honestly why people are getting hyped when they have and will again most likely bait and switch.The fact Deej,Cosmo, or anyone from Bungie, havent gave us a clear explanation of why, just one statement of 'we're not ready to talk about that, then turn around say exotics Warlock Boots are advertising point of Rise of Iron is shady. When we had Warlock Exotic Boots ready to go for awhile, but nope just wants to make easy $$.
Unfortunately, there’s currently no known way to trigger Destiny: Rise of Iron’s Exotic quest for Thorn; you just have to hope you receive the Jagged Purpose Exotic bounty when handing in Shiro-4’s Iron Lord bounties. Once you have it, the bounty appears on your inventory screen; you need to visit the Tower and speak to Eris Morn to turn it into a proper quest.What we do know is what you’ll have to do once you’ve receive the Exotic bounty and started the Thorn Exotic quest, thanks to SteviaSteve. Here’s the lowdown:.
1. Echoes of DarknessFace The Wretched Eye strike and defeat Kovik, the Devil Splicers’ high priest. No difficulty requirement.
2. Harvest of the LesserWipe out Fallen in the Plaguelands to feed the weapon’s appetite. You’ll need to kill several hundred Splicers. 3. Feast Upon the LightUse Void Damage to defeat Guardians in the Crucible.
Thankfully there appears to be no penalties for deaths or losses, so you “only” need to kill about 125 players to complete this. Private matches will not progress the Exotic quest. Hopefully you still have a decent Void weapon somewhere; remember it doesn’t matter what its stats are in standard, level-adjusted Crucible, so even Word of Crota will do. 4.
Cleansed by The LightConsume Motes of Light to Cleanse yourself and the weapon. If you don’t have enough Motes, earn XP, play Crucible matches or cash in engrams. 5. Where it BeganFind a Skeleton Key and open the Strike Hoard at the end of “The Abomination Heist” Strike.Manage all that and turn in the Exotic quest to score a Year 3 Thorn, already one of Destiny: Rise of Iron’s most coveted weapons. Take it to the Crucible and ruin everybody else’s day. You’ve earned it.
